Job Description

Engineering exists to serve two main purposes:
We sell and service the equipment that is required to provide clean water to the communities where we live and work. Everyone deserves clean water, and we strive to make sure there is an ample supply. Our equipment collects, treats, and distributes water and wastewater.
We sell and service the rotating equipment that is required to keep manufacturing plants up and running in Arkansas and surrounding states. When plants close due to unplanned maintenance and downtime, it can cripple an organization and a community.
The specific equipment that we sell and service from our three Arkansas locations includes pumps and pump systems, compressed air systems, valves, actuators, mechanical seals, controls, water treatment equipment, wastewater treatment equipment, and water storage tanks.

We are seeking a talented and results driven individual with extensive technical experience working with industrial pumps to join our dynamic teams as a Sr. Application Engineer. This critical role in our operation interfaces with our various JTE team members and customers to ensure we are responsive to clients by generating accurate and timely quotes that best meet the client’s technical needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Select equipment for all Aftermarket retrofit projects.
Learn and study JTE’s entire line card and know how to fully quote solutions with all lines JTE represents.
Produce timely, thorough, and accurate quotes using knowledge of all JTE product lines and technical expertise to quote correct solutions for customers
Understand the relationship between pumps, motors, mixers, valves, actuators, controls and other complementary equipment to develop a complete equipment package to best address the customer needs
Review all specs to ensure quotes meet requirements
Create pump “skids” for end users, utilizing existing layouts or creating as needed
Effectively collaborate with the outside sales team to gather all needed information to provide timely and accurate quotes.
Correspond with customers, internal team members, and suppliers via email to receive order specifications, verify product availability, ensure order accuracy, and provide order status updates
Resolve order issues by researching and coordinating product information with various vendors and departments within the company to ensure product pricing accuracy, product availability, and proper shipping documentation
Ensure warranties, related accessories, and spare parts are understood and included in quotes as needed
Promote a team approach and work collaboratively and effectively across and within departments
Work with Service Manager to determine appropriate installation requirements and labor needs to include in quotes as needed, specifically understanding confined space requirements and impact on labor amounts needed
Be a go-to technical resource for technicians when they are in the field and have technical questions about the equipment.
Pull operations and maintenance manuals and provide to techs prior to their scheduled jobs to give them time to review the installation and startup procedures of the equipment
Establish personal rapport with potential and current customers.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, vendor training, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
Effectively utilize Clickup as the internal software maintaining all customer and project information
Ensure JTE revenue is maximized by following up on quotes
Provide helpful and speedy support to the outside sales team and customers
Assist in change management initiative to transition from paper-based systems to electronic systems
Answer calls and route to appropriate staff as needed
Must be willing to flex and provide support for other tasks and team members as needed
Be responsible for creating accurate cost worksheets, thorough scope of supply for an aftermarket project, and follow correct order entry process of sales order.
Conduct after action reports with techs, Olen, and service writers to evaluate job’s efficiency, safety, and profitability. Review sales order and add or subtract parts, equipment, and labor hours to reflect what happened during the project.
Be the point of contact to create clear communication between owner, contractor, and JTE service to ensure a successful, safe, and efficient installation and startup.
Become the inside technical support person for Wachs Water and help us grow this new market segment
Support all Operational Excellence initiatives as they relate to improving the company’s efficiency and improvement initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience, required
Extensive experience working with pumps and pump systems, this includes:
reading a pump curve
calculating for pumps in parallel and in series
mechanical seals
pump spacing and HI standards
pump controllers
troubleshooting pumps with pressure gauge and flow meters
sizing pumps for variable flow conditions
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
Experience and/or comfort level working directly with customers.
Strong Problem-solving abilities
High degree of initiative
Strong sense of urgency
Product knowledge of JTE lines and ability to quickly learn new products and offerings
Demonstrate dependability by regular and prompt attendance
