Roles & Responsibilities
· Design, implement, and support IBM products including IBM Power System Servers and Virtual I/O (VIO) to enhance the AIX environment.
· Design, implement, and support of disaster recovery / high availability strategies for IBM Power systems via DR Systems and HMC.
· Physical and Virtual HMC management.
· VIO upgrade from 2.x to 3.x, VIO SAN Boot enablement and System Firmware upgrades.
· AIX Gold image creation, hardening and management.
· NIM server operations and management. Mksysb backup and recovery.
· Manage LPAR LPM on HMC.
· SSP Pool management for LPARs and administration.
· LPAR high availability build and administration.
· CPU pool management on IBM Power Systems to manage licensed products.
· Shell scripting to manage current scripts and support other teams. Plan to automate using playbooks to simplify the process and manage better.
· Maintain lpar2rrd software to monitor and manage processor entitlements.
· Monitor and assess the end-of-life/end-of-support status of operating systems, databases, middleware technologies, and hardware devices to ensure effective control over technical debt.
· Represent your team (technology area) in strategy/roadmap/direction discussions to your peers (other leads) and management.
· Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive actionable recommendations.
· Contribute to the continuous enhancement of technology life cycle management strategies, policies, and procedures.
· Work with cross-functional teams within and outside the I&O area, demonstrating project management skills, to execute technology life cycle projects and initiatives.
· Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to technology life cycle management, data analysis, and system vulnerability risk management.
