Job Description

Title: NOC Engineer II
Location: Plano, TX 75024 (ONSITE WORK UP TO 5 DAYS PER WEEK | candidates MUST be LOCAL to the Plano, TX [Dallas, TX] area to be considered)

Residency: Green Card, GC-EAD, or Citizens ONLY

Technical Skills: NOTE!!! This is an Optical Network NOC Engineer and we need to focus on the Optical Network Technologies that are listed below.

Shift Schedule: 4×10 rotating shifts (MUST be willing to work any required shifts)

JOB SUMMARY

The NOC Engineer II will perform in-depth troubleshooting of all issues, perform escalated network repair, execute tactical projects, and own the overall network troubleshooting. The NOC Engineer II will continuously monitor and manage the network to ensure alarm receipt and processing procedures are followed.

Provide Technical Feedback to Engineering on Design / Product Changes / Enhancements

Generate / Process Technical Support / Service Tickets

Identify Alarms / Raise Requests / Perform Diagnostics / Dispatch to the Appropriate Carriers / Field Technicians

Provide Support Across Layer 1 / Layer 2 (VLAN Tagging / VLAN Encapsulation [Q-in-Q]) / Layer 3 (BGP / OSPF / MPLS) Networking

Update / Maintain Database / Circuit Documentation / Records

Conduct Detailed MOP Reviews / MOP Deconfliction – Ensure Minimal Customer Impact During Scheduled Maintenance, etc.

Understand / Apply / Maintain Network Standards as Documented by Engineering / Architecture

Effectively Isolate / Timely Resolution of Critical Issues

Strong Ability to Trend Issues / Coordinate with Optical Engineering for Resolution

Work Effectively in High-Pressure / Short Timeline Environments – Manage / Respond to Customers Effectively

Layer 2 Networking Support – VLAN Tagging / VLAN Encapsulation (Q-in-Q)

Layer 3 Networking Support – BGP / OSPF / MPLS

Fujitsu Flashwave 9500 / 7500 / 7420 / 4100 / 4100es / 4020 / 4500

Turin FTOS (Force10) / Cisco NX-OS / Juniper Junos Equipment

Ciena / Ethernet Equipment – Ciena Switches 6x / 8x Platforms | CEDS 3930 / 3931 / 3960 / 5150 / 5410 | ActivFlex 6500 | MEN (Metro Ethernet)

MRV Optiswitch – OS9000 / OS900

Juniper MX / EX Series
