Experience Required:-

5+ years of software testing experience.
3 years of experience with the following:
• Performing software testing

• Creating test cases

• Web-based software/application testing

• Requirements traceability

• Microsoft Windows PC and web browser testing environment

Education Required:-

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar. (Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis)

Professional training on IT processes including but not limited to business analysis, software development, and project management

Certifications are encouraged and welcomed, but not required.

Project Description:

The projects are implementations of a Grants Management solution provided as a Software as a Service (SaaS).

The implementations are occurring for each division in the organization and are scheduled based on priority and resource availability.

The time to complete each implementation ranges between 9 to 18 months depending on complexity.

Because this is a SaaS implementation of an existing solution, the work of the QA Software tester is focused on validating that the configuration deliverables of the solution satisfy the functional business requirements – Acceptance, Functional, and Regression testing of configuration changes provided by the vendor.

This position does not require code testing or the use of automated testing tools.

The incumbent will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, validate, verify, communicate, and resolve web-based systems/software application issues through comprehensive testing in order to maximize the benefit of IT investments and initiatives.

Serves as a liaison with stakeholders to ensure that testing results provide adequate evidence that applications sufficiently satisfy business requirements and systems goals and fulfill end-user requirements.

The incumbent will be responsible for identifying application and system issues/deficiencies/unmet requirements, facilitating the resolutions, performing the necessary retest procedures, documenting outcomes, and ensure traceability.

The incumbent will frequently collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software configurations, presenting testing results to the appropriate stakeholder for approval.

Responsibilities:

Design, execute, and debug test plans of software applications based on business requirements and technical specifications. Review project requirements and develop appropriate test cases to validate all project requirements are met and produce the expected results.

Detect and identify web-based configuration/workflow failures so that issues are discovered, documented, corrected, and retested.

Evaluate software ease of usability and error handling procedures.

Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.

Document test results and generate historical analysis of applications’ capabilities and functionality.

Document configuration anomalies and defects in an issue tracking database.

Participate in application planning/design meetings.

Provide application instructions for users.
