Job Description

Position Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX (On-site)
Duration: 12+ months

Immediate role
Only GC, USC
only local to San Antonio, TX
Qualifications:
•10+ years’ experience in Compute foundational infrastructure including virtualization, server administration, storage, and backups.
•3+ years’ experience with VMware products.
•Strong background and experience in the VMware vSphere suite of products (version7.0 and up)
•Experience as a VMware ESXi system engineer in an Enterprise-class environment.
•Deploy and configure ESXi and vCenter, VMware ESXi with Virtual Center / Hyper-V.
•Demonstrated experience in administration of Dell EMC PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, and Cisco UCS
•Familiarity with Operating Systems (Windows OS, Linux), Active Directory, DNS, F5 Big IP Load balancers, and data migrations.
•Work in a highly collaborative and fast-growing environment.
•Experience maintaining security, and emergency patching/fixes.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently with multiple teams, and both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Deep knowledge of next-generation applications & cloud platforms is a huge plus.
•Experience with SAN systems (Brocade, Pure Storage, and NetApp) would be a huge plus.
•Experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments.

Responsibilities:
•Configure, administer, tune, and optimize VMWare ESXI, vSphere, and vCenter.
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Dell EMC PowerEdge servers.
•Serves as technical subject matter expert for the resolution of issues related to Compute infrastructure including servers, virtualization, and associated components.
•Responsible for the maintenance and support of Compute infrastructure, including vulnerability remediation, configuration management, capacity management, provisioning, and zoning of new servers.
•Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands.
•Play an active role in Enterprise Service Management including alerts, incidents, service requests, and change management requests related to storage/backup.
•Ensure the environment is properly monitored and maintained.
•Maintain and develop documentation necessary to manage the infrastructure.
•Participate in an on-call schedule rotation for after-hours support.
•Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems and deliver solutions.
