About the job
Roles and Responsibilities: He/ she should be Subject Matter expert in Electrical Design

• To use established respective codes and Jacobs engineering practices to produce engineering deliverables in the form of electrical equipment specifications, data sheets or engineering drawings good for construction. This include SLD, substation equipment layout, power layout, earthing layout, lighting layout, lightning protection system layout, cable routing etc.
• Job responsibility includes preparing electrical design basis, various design calculations for electrical equipment sizing, power system study using ETAP software, preparing cable schedule, interconnection diagram, schematic diagram, bulk MTO, making work hour estimates for proposals, preparation / making cost estimates etc.
• Job responsibility includes preparing enquiry documents for electrical equipment, technical evaluation of vendor offers, technical discussions with the vendors, preparation of technical recommendations and order specifications, Review of vendor drawings and resolve technical issues as part of detailed engineering, review of electrical contents for mechanical packages
• Job also requires extensive co-ordination with other engineering groups for exchanging job related issues and includes progress reporting and work hour controlling
• Equipment inspections at Vendor’s works
• Job requires extensive interaction with clients/other Jacobs offices/PMC
•Should be able to work as Lead Engineer for Big size projects and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Should work as Technical Auditor and Carry Out IDR.

Qualification & Experience:

• More than 20 years of experience
• First class graduate/post graduate electrical engineer with experience of working in a leading engineering consultancy/EPC company
• Should have in-depth knowledge and experience of working with latest national and international codes like IS, IEC, IEEE, NEC, ANSI etc.
• Candidate should be well conversant with carrying out System Studies including Relay co-ordination studies with the use of ETAP software
• Fire Alarm, Telecommunication system, Electrical heat tracing, Cathodic protection system experience will be considered as an added advantage. Any experience in EHV Switchyard and Power plant engineering will also be considered as an added advantage
• Candidates with experience in Oil & Gas sector, Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical / Process Plant / Fertilizer Plant
• Vendor data reviews
• Should have leadership qualities
• Be able to mentor juniors
• Undertake developmental activities like preparation of work instructions / guideline.
• Understanding of Project requirements like productivity/ schedule workhour control etc.
• Have good understanding of requirements of other groups like mechanical/instrumentation/Civil etc.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written so as to communicate with client and lead offices.
•Should have knowledge and experience to do Work hour estimation for National and International projects
•Should have Knowledge of Lighting Softwares(Dialux, Luxicon), and Model review software Navis Work
