JOB DESCRIPTION:

**looking for a Infrastructure Manager who is a passionate leader but also has hands on experience with network/systems infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All work is performed with deadlines based on agency priorities.

Daily Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the daily operations of the data center, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
Team Management: Manage, schedule, and mentor a team of IT Infrastructure professionals, including engineers, and administrators.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to improve data center efficiency and performance. This includes hardware/software upgrades, optimizing power usage, cooling, and server utilization.
Security and Compliance: Ensure the data center meets industry standards such as HIPAA, CIS, PCI, and GDPR.
Incident Management: Monitor and promptly respond to system alerts and issues using tools like network monitoring software and incident management systems.
Disaster Recovery: Implement and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans to address potential disruptions, including natural disasters and cyber-attacks.
Budget Management: Oversee budgets and expenditures related to the data center, including equipment procurement, maintenance, and staffing costs.
Documentation: Create and maintain thorough documentation regarding data center operations, including policies, procedures, and inventory lists.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to align the data center with organizational needs.
Auditing: Conduct regular audits of the data center for vulnerabilities and areas of improvement.
Vendor Management: Build and manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring that their products and services are optimally utilized.
Research: Stay informed about the latest trends in data center management, proposing and integrating best practices as appropriate.
Data Management: Ensure regular data backups and archives, and test disaster recovery procedures periodically.
Access and Security Policies: Develop and enforce stringent data center access policies, including physical security protocols and background checks for personnel.
Reporting: Provide detailed reports and updates to senior management, presenting metrics about uptime, performance, and efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement: Ensure the data center’s ongoing efficiency and performance, keeping an eye out for areas of improvement.
Team Development: Ensure the team has access to ongoing training, tools, and resources they need to perform their tasks effectively.
Strategy Execution: Implement the strategic initiatives laid out for the data center’s improvement and growth.
Risk Management: Continuously assess potential risks to the data center and make sure there are plans in place to mitigate them.
Vendor Relations: Maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure smooth operations and timely support.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with senior management and other stakeholders, ensuring they are updated on the data center’s performance and any significant issues.
Policy Adherence: Ensure that all policies related to data center access, security, and operations are being followed consistently.
