Title: Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA 98104 (Hybrid Work Model)
Duration: 12+ Months
Position Description:
The Cloud Support Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the operational aspects of Client Investment Management’s Cloud Program including Monitoring, Identity and Secrets Management, Backups, Recovery, and Incident Response. They work as part of a larger organization consisting of Cloud Platform Engineering, Development, InfoSec and Site Reliability Engineering teams to build effective, secure, and scalable solutions to meet explosive business growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide frontline Cloud operational support, incident management, and administration for Client including AWS, Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas, and Confluent Cloud
• Identity and Access Management across various Cloud platforms
• Cloud secrets management including deployment, rotation, and tooling integration
• Design and implement centralized observability and monitoring/alerting solutions to ensure availability
• Manage Cloud backup and recovery solutions for critical infrastructure
• Assist with implementation of Cloud Security policies and guardrails
• Create and maintain Terraform IaC to ensure architectural consistency and security
• Design and implement best practices for operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, efficiency, and cost optimization across Cloud platforms
• Create and maintain documentation related to the Client Cloud Program
• Mentor junior team members on secure Cloud Ops design principles and IaC
• Stay current with industry trends and lead operational innovation initiatives
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
• AWS Cloud Architect Associate certification or equivalent
• 3+ years’ hands on AWS Support experience
• 5+ years hands on experience in Information Technology, preferably in financial services
• Strong knowledge of Terraform or Python based orchestration tooling and source control experience (Github)
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management technologies and best practices
• Familiarity with cross-cloud monitoring solutions (DataDog preferred)
• Cloud Incident Management experience and ability to participate in on-call rotation
• Experience with backup and recovery tooling (AWS Backup preferred)
• Experience working with Linux/UNIX and Docker or other container technologies
• Able to work as part of a high performing, collaborative team with minimal supervision
